AD36: Antelope Valley

What are Assembly District Delegates?

Every two years, the CA Democrats elect 7 women and 7 men from each Assembly District in CA as delegates to the state party. Those who are elected will have a chance to vote for the new party chair and other leadership. The race is hotly contested and will determine how welcoming, grassroots-focused and innovative the party becomes or how beholden it will remain to big money interests.

Delegates elect Party officers, endorse candidates for statewide, legislative and congressional office, attend the annual convention, network with other Democrats, represent your constituency, promote the California Democratic Party agenda, and vote to endorse resolutions and ballot measures.

You get 14 votes for delegates, 1 of which you must also vote for Executive Board Representative.

Detailed Information

Isaac Lieberman

My name is Isaac Lieberman, RN, and I ask for your vote and your support.

If you don’t have time to read much, just know this:

I fight for Bernie Sanders’ policies!

Of course, you can learn much more about me below, but if you know what Bernie Sanders stands for, that is the most important thing to know about me.

As a delegate to the California Democratic Party, I will continue to organize for Environmental, Social, Racial, and Economic justice for all, supporting progressive policies as Bernie Sanders does so tirelessly.

I am a strong supporter of Bernie’s platform, Black Lives Matter, #NODAPL, Banning fracking, Sierra Club, EDF, WWF, SCOPE, ACLU, Our Revolution, the labor movement, SPLC, PFAW, and others.

Even now, when not at work at the county hospital, you will notice that I continue to wear buttons supporting BLACK LIVES MATTER, BERNIE SANDERS, Fracking Bans, and PDA-HEALTHCARE NOT WARFARE. Occasionally these buttons attract negative response, but our nation and planet are in crisis, and I am committed to doing everything I can ethically do to wake people up and build the movement for justice to resolve these environmental and constitutional emergencies.

I am proud that I was on Susie Shannon’s progressive slate last time, and I hope to be there this year as well. Beware those candidates or slates who claim to be “progressive,” but who have failed to fight for progressive values and progressive candidates in the past.

As a SoCal native, a UCLA & College of the Canyons graduate with top honors (summa cum laude), I’ve lived here most of my life. I love to travel and learn throughout the world, but there is no place I’d rather live than here in Southern California.

As a delegate, I’ll continue to bring people of all backgrounds together, organizing here & nationwide to strengthen our progressive movement as exemplified by Bernie Sanders, Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Prof. Robert Reich, Cornell West, TYT, Robert F Kennedy (Jr. & Sr.), Mike Papantonio, Lee Clark, Jimmy Dore, Amy Goodman, Thom Hartmann, Jim Hightower, John Nichols, and so many other great men and women.

As a long-time environmental activist, I became political after seeing that many of our environmental problems require political involvement to solve. I have received awards from the LACDP and the Sierra Club, I have been a citizen lobbyist for the environment locally, in Sacramento, and in Washington, DC. I have made calls and canvassed for Democratic candidates from coast to coast, and I organized and hosted more Bernie Sanders campaign events in the Santa Clarita Valley than anyone – including dozens of events from phone bank parties to voter registration drives to canvassing events to Barnstorms.

If you share my progressive and liberal values, if you want to see our party live up to
the promise of its Democratic wing, if you want the nation to live up to the promise of our constitution and Bill of Rights… then please vote for me.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men [and women] to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke.

Thank you for being involved and for encouraging others, too! Together we can make a difference for our own and our precious children’s futures, God willing, for at least the next 7 generations! Please contact me anytime to get on our mailing list, to ask questions, or just to stay in touch. call and text area code 661 cell prefix 373 number 6084.  Margaret Finnstrom

Hi, my name is Margaret Finnstrom, and I was born and raised in Southern California. I have lived in Santa Clarita, and I have been actively involved in Southern California Democratic clubs for the last seven years. I care about our community, and I enjoy being involved to help make changes that impact our state and country. I have volunteered to register voters and phone banked for Democratic candidates. During the primaries, I along with Isaac Lieberman handed out flyers, phone banked, canvassed, held Barnstorms and phone banking parties for Bernie Sanders. I am passionate on issues such as Income Inequality – fair wages for all workers, the environment, protecting the elderly, improving public schools, and equal rights for all. Elect me as your delegate, and I will vote for candidates that share the same values to make our state and country a better place for everyone. Vote for me Margaret Finnstrom and Isaac Lieberman as Cadem ADEM 36 representatives. Thank you!
