AD67: Murrieta, Winchester, Terra Cotta Area

What are Assembly District Delegates?

Every two years, the CA Democrats elect 7 women and 7 men from each Assembly District in CA as delegates to the state party. Those who are elected will have a chance to vote for the new party chair and other leadership. The race is hotly contested and will determine how welcoming, grassroots-focused and innovative the party becomes or how beholden it will remain to big money interests.

Delegates elect Party officers, endorse candidates for statewide, legislative and congressional office, attend the annual convention, network with other Democrats, represent your constituency, promote the California Democratic Party agenda, and vote to endorse resolutions and ballot measures.

You get 14 votes for delegates, 1 of which you must also vote for Executive Board Representative.

Detailed Information

Benjamin O’Shea

My name is Ben O’Shea I am 26 years old and a Lake Elsinore native. Politics and history have always been a passion for me and I believe now more than ever it is time to get involved in shaping the Democratic Party. I was, and still am, an avid supporter of Bernie Sanders and the progressive ideals he ran on. I believe California needs to lead the way on progressive issues and be an example to the rest of the country.

James Lauerman

I would like to introduce myself. My name is James Lauerman. I have lived in Assembly District 67 since 1999, when I moved my family here to pursue my dream of becoming a Physician Assistant. I lived and worked in Hemet, California, for American Medical Response as an EMT providing 911 Emergency Medical Services. I am a proud graduate of the RCRMC / RCC Physician Assistant Program Moreno Valley, Class of 2003. Currently, I live in Wildomar, California with my wife and two children and work as a Physician Assistant in our local community’s Urgent Care. I have a strong passion and commitment to quality and affordable healthcare. I believe that single-payer, otherwise known as Medicare for all, is the only affordable and viable solution for delivering high quality healthcare to all of our nation’s people. I share and support the values and forward thinking of the California Democratic Party’s Progressive 2016 Platform, particularly in regard to these areas: dying with dignity, environmental stewardship, immigration, education, criminal justice reform, infrastructure repair and economic justice.

This historic presidential election has motivated me to become a more active participant in our local and state politics and to fight for and represent the best interests of the people of my district to the best of my ability.

I respectfully ask for your support and your vote to be one of your Assembly Delegates for CA. District 67 as well as for a position on the Executive Board.

Nicolas Depierola

Hello, my name is Nicolas Depierola. I am a 28 year old progressive from Menifee. I came to the U.S from Peru when I was 9 years old and am proud of my American citizenship. I was inspired by the progressive vision Bernie laid out in the primaries and want to do my part to make his vision a reality. This includes immigration, campaign finance reform, a minimum wage increase, affordable higher education, infrastructure repair, and single payer health care, amongst other things. I humbly ask for your support so we can continue making progress towards a more equal America. Thank you for your time.
